# 11666/6/01Hello, Bill. I've written a deep, poignant script about a young man's battle coping with his mother's breast cancer. It shows how a man's man must come to grips with something so profoundly feminine. It is obviously NOT "high-concept" nor a subject generally written about by male writers. Is there a "special" way I might pitch this? Thanks so much. mainwrite@aol.com Bill Robinson

# 11035/17/01I am a first time writer with a twenty page synopsis for a movie. How can I find a writer to write the screenplay for me? Are there writers/companies which would forego payment in return for a percentage of the earnings if/when the screenplay is sold? Can you suggest websites where freelance writers advertise their services? Thank you for your time. Bill Robinson

# 10244/18/01In general, do production companies read ALL scripts submitted by agents, or do they read only scripts from agents that they regularly do business with. Just curious. Thanks. J. Bill Robinson

# 10134/11/01 Hi Bill, From the unpublished novel I wrote, I sent a one chance in a million pitch letter to my number one director. I received an invitation to submit the material once I have a screenplay. I cannot pay $5000 up for a skilled writer. I don't expect someone to donate time either. And I don't know a screenwriter. This is 7 years I've been pounding this story into dough. Luellen Smiley Bill Robinson

# 9843/29/01in response to my forwarding a logline, then brief synopsis, then the scripts track history (requested via email) I have been asked to send my feature film script via email. The company describes them selves as able to do one of the following with my script: 1) sell it, 2) produce it. They define their company as managers & producers". Do you think I should send the script? At this time, I have no agent. Bill Robinson

# 9523/19/01Dear Bill, Do you think that I could successfully market my scripts to smaller production companies without an agent? I have one in LA, but he doesn't push anything. I realize that I would have to sign a release form, but that's okay with me. Your opinion/comments would be greatly appreciated. Jane Bill Robinson

# 9493/18/01I read your and Ms. Morris's book in practically one sitting with my jaw on my chest. The bizarre truth of your book is that human beings can get used to anything. I learned that I am a damned fool if I think that I can cook on a stove fueled-by-hell and not get burned. This book is a kindness. Thanks! Bill Robinson

# 9483/18/01I own the motion picture rights to the classic "Black Like Me" I am executive producer of a nationally syndicated radio show and been trying to package this film, I have about 2 dozen query letters out to Directors...Am I headed in the right direction? Bill Robinson

# 9383/15/01As a producer, do you read scripts sent to you by agents personally, or do you farm them out to a reader? And would your response also apply to most producers? Bill Robinson

# 9353/15/01Hi Bill, My script is in the hands of a known actor's producing partner. He is currently taking it around to production companies, trying to get it optioned. In fact, he showed me one of the coverages which gave my script a "consider." My concern is that I don't have any paperwork that attaches the actor or the partner to my script. Do I need any? Bill Robinson

# 9123/8/01Howdy, I just recieved a reply to a submission to a Producer. He said my dialogue and action weren't to par and told me that he will pass on it. At the end he said that if I'm tired of working on my concept or wanted to "collaborate," that he will help pay for a rewrite. Why did he tell me one thing and offer another? Your advice is deeply appreciated. Bill Robinson

# 9093/7/01Hello. How does one submit an idea or spec script to Blue Relief? Thanks. Bill Robinson

# 9063/6/01Your book looks really interesting. I've been an assistant to a producer so the title has more than a ring of truth to it. I'll definitely look it up. Now I'm concentrating more on my writing. As a producer, in general terms, what do you look for in a script and do you, at your level, only look at those referred to you by agents? Bill Robinson

# 9013/6/01Can you tell me where I can get incontact with the Natural Nylon Production Company. Possibly England based. It's execs are Jonny Lee Miller, Ewan McGregor and Jude Law Bill Robinson
